What do they smell like?
We like to describe the scent of our hickory-smoked treats as BBQ-like. Think of grilling a delicious piece of meat on a warm summery day.
Where are they smoked?
We operate an old-fashioned smokehouse in Upstate Pennsylvania. Use can literally see cows walking around it. Our treats are smoked the old-fashioned way, over hickory wood. Preservatives are never used.
Do you use preservatives?
Our treats are dehydrated and then smoked. Because all the moisture has naturally been removed, no preservatives are needed. We cold-smoke our treats for long periods so that they retain the highest level of nutrients possible. They should last for two years but do keep them out of the sun and store them in a dry and cool place.
Where do you source your meats?
Our meats are sourced from either the USA or Brazil. Cows are grass-fed and chickens are free-range.
Are they messy?
Generally not. We find that things such as pig ears which are generally greasy are much cleaner when smoked. Our recommendation is to start your dog off on a blanket or towel for the first few minutes just in case there is some natural oil that needs to be “licked off” first.
